In this book, I aim to discuss ways in which Rwandans remember, that is, how they manage their memories and how external factors, such as politics, oral traditions, and other forces influence the process of remembering and forgetting. The suggestion I make throughout the book is that Rwandans remember and forget in complex ways that fuel and perpetuate ethnic conflicts, whether open or latent.
