Novel Review: Josefu’s thousand hills

The Journal of the Royal Anthropological Institute has just published my review of Dragadze’s novel “Josefu’s thousand hills” (2014). The novel is very interesting in many ways, but what makes it stand out, is that it offers what I would call “the UN staff perspective” on the immediate aftermath of the genocide. Of course a few ethnic clichés and other received ideas pop up here and there.
